POLICE BALL.

CHARITY FUNCTION. The committee of the Auckland Police Force is to be congratulated on the ; success of the annual ball, which was j held in the Peter Pan Cabaret last evenI ing. The fact that hundreds of dancers i were present augurs well for the size of I the cheque that will be forwarded to the Governor-General's winter relief fund. The cabaret was gaily bedecked in clusters of balloons and spring flowers adorned the cubicle tables. The orchestra played the old number, "The Prisoner's Song," and encores were called for after "A Policeman's Holiday."
