A sensation was caused at the Victoria Racing Club's meeting at Flemington yesterday when the outstanding jumper of the- year, Redditch, winner of the Grand National and Australian Steeplechases, fell in the August Steeplechase, in which only two of the four runners completed the course. Redditch rose immediately and galloped away, but his rider, R. Inkson, was seriously injured, receiving severe concussion. * The New Zealand Ruling Light was fifth in the Apprentices' Handicap, and Peter Jackson ran badly in the August Handicap.
