The spectacular musical comedy rev"?. "Venus, Limited," opened at _±lia Majesty's Theatre on Saturday niglft before a large audience. It revea «a several striking sets of toilet frocks and modem evening gowns displayed py some of the principal artistes. Miss Jennie Benson wore a pastel green draped Grecian gown for her first appearance, the headdress being a coronet of pale green leaves and pink roses. She carried a small pale green feather fan M£ Benson's beautiful gown of pastel gieen chiffon was embroidered in lon- lines of 1 diamante, and worn with a jewelled pink satin coat. Miss Eeme Kmno Miss Thelma Trott, and Miss Audrey Lewis were suitably clad in many co ouVed smart dance frocks , , the number, Alerrace in Spain," with Mies Thelma Trott in a crinoline skirt of black silk velvet, with three coloured flat silk frills m shades of tomato and orange, the slim I fitting bodice had organdie puffs on tlie sleeviL with horizontal lines of blue, ■yellow and red. The ballet, which acted as a background for the item, wore primrose and green, with primrose Spanislf shawls and black Carmen hats. There were some striking gowns for the first entrance of the ballet, which represented si cocktail. The leader was dressed to represent a cocktail glass, and was followed by each girl representing champagne, cherry brandy, creme de cocoa, ' and creme de" menthe. Another beautiful I cot was the Australian beauty chorus, dressed to represent the different flowers in the number entitled "Finer D'Amour. Exquisite colouring and dressing was displayed in the number "A Haven of Butterflies." Among the audience were: Lady Leys, Mesdames Brian Hewitt, M. M Louis'son, H. Vaile, A.
