HONEY CONTROL.
1 BUSINESS MEN'S INQUIRY. The question of honey control was before the council of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce yesterday, when the exporters' section committee tabled a report submitted at a previous meeting by dissatisfied beekeepers. Mr. J. R. Butland, chairman of the Honey Control Board, had written declining to meet the committee to discuss the matter. The president of the chamber, Mr. H. Turner, said that there was a - feeling in the business community that the whole question of honey control had been mishandled. "We do not want to be barking up the wrong tree," said Mr. A. G.'Lunn. "We should be particular about our facts before we take any definite steps. We should ask some of the beekeepers to give us some backing." He thought that the report should be referred back to the exporters' section. Mr W. A. Boucher: Mr. Butland should again be asked to meet the council. ~ , ~ ~, „ Mr J Hislop said that the lettei indicated that Mr. Butland did not want to meet the council. After further discussion, it was decided to ask Mr. Butland and the liquidator to meet the council.
