SNAKE CAUSES PANIC.
FERRY BOAT CAPSIZES
CALCUTTA, August 13.
A ferry boat was crossing the flooded River Hooghly when the boatman disturbed a snake in the bottom of the craft.' A panic ensued among the passengers and the vessel capsized. All were saved but one man.
Floods in Bihar have driven snakes, leopards and other jungle animals to seek refuge side by side. Villagers are isolated in high spots.
