WHITE BUTTERFLY PEST.
» I ■ MEAT PRODUCERS' BOARD GRANT. The ravages of the white butterfly in certain portions of the Dominion have an important bearing on the food of stock, and the Meat Producers' Board has received resolutions from sheepfar triers' organisations declaring that this pest is a menace to the fat stock industry. The board lias gone into'the matter with the Department of Agriculture, and- has decided to make a grant of £150 to supplement the activities of the Departments plant research station at Palmerston North. This will enable additional supplies of the insect parasite to be provided to keep clown the butterfly, and if possible prevent its spread into other parts of the Dominion.
