CABARET INCIDENT.
DANCER CAUSES MISCHIEF.
SCUFFLE, THEN ARREST.
An incident which happened in the Mayfair Cabaret on Saturday night had its sequel in the Police Court this morning, when Leslie Robert Fisher (29), labourer, appeared, charged with 'being drunk in Karangahape Road and committing mischief by wilfully damaging a dinner jacket valued at £4, the property of Ernest Grondin. ■ /
Fisher pleaded guilty to the first charge, but denied the second. Evidence given Dy Grondin, floor manager of the cabaret, was to the effect that Fisher was dancing with a partner. He was drunk, and witness asked him to leave the cabaret._ Fisher refused and there was a scuffle, in which witness' coat was torn.
Fisher said someone had pushed him downstairs when he returned to get his overcoat. If he did tear the coat, it was not done intentionally.
Fisher was fined 10/ for drunkenness and ordered to make good tho damage done.
