It is certainly most interesting to see in Tuesday's issue tlie explanation of "M.B. regarding the parable of the rich man. 1 had always thought that the figurative language had some local application, but the little ga tc let into the city wall near the big gate that was closed at sunset solves the whole problem splendidly, and I feel sure that others will join me in expressing an obligation to your correspondent for remembering having heard this simple explanation in a lecture given many years ago by a man who had actually resided in Palestine. It makes one wonder why the Authorised Version allowed the translation to convey such a different meaning, but probably in those days very few people in England had been to the Holy Land. BIBLE STUDENT.
