His Majesty's Theatre will be reopened on Saturday next, when J. C. Williamson, Ltd., will present, for the first time in New Zealand, the Ernest C. Rolls musical comedy, "Venus, Ltd.," which has proved one of the most successful theatrical attractions staged in Sydney and Melbourne during the past seven years. The company which is to present "Venus, Ltd.," comprises artists from London, New York and Australia, and it includes a bevy of Australian girls and also ah Australian ballet. Miss Jennie Benson, a London musical comedy favourite, will make her first appearance here, with Mr. Charles Norman, comedian, who has just returned from a tour of England and America. Miss Rene Riano lias been acclaimed as a talented comedienne in Sydney, and it is said that nothing like her eccentric dancing has been seen in Sydney or Melbourne. Mr. Colin Crane (baritone). has on previous occasions appeared with success in musical comedy successes under J.C.W. management. Cecil Scott will be remembered for his brilliant work in the title-role of the talking picture, "The Sentimental Bloke." Miss Maie Baird and Mr. Archie Thompson last toured New Zealand as principal dancers in "The Maid of the Mountains" and "Katinka." L'Etoile and Lawrence are feature dancers, and other artists who have helped to make Ernest C. Rolls' productions successful are Harry Simmons, Billy Kershaw, A 1 Mack, Frank. Keane, Charles King, Madge Hope, Marie Doran, "Chic" Arnold (who last appeared here in "Rio Rita"), Thelma Trott, Albert Batchelder. Amongst the beautiful Australian girls are Ruth King, Honore O'Brien, Eileen Hemberg, Norma Hoskins, June Knight, Mervyn Pitt, Sally Evans and Jane Janis. Box plans will open at Lewis Eady, Ltd., on Wednesday morning.
