ALL-BRITISH FILMS.

MAJESTIC'S NEW CONTRACT. Auckland. filmgoers who favour pictures of British origin will, after October 6, find most of their popular 6tars featured on tho programmes of the Majestic Theatre, the directors of which have purchased the 1933-34 contract for the. products of the British and Dominions, the British-Gaumont, the British Lion, the Ideal, the Twickenham, and the Reginald Fogwell Studios. The Majestic will open its new all-British 6eason with a screening of the WallsLynn Aldwych Theatre farce, "Thark," on the first' Friday in October, following this with'a succession of promising pictures, including "The Little Damozel (Anna Neagle), "Tell Me To-night" (Jan Kiepura), "The Lost Chord" (Anne Grey, John Stuart), "Hindle Wakes" (Sybil Thorndike), "That's My Wife" (Claude Allister), "Up For the DorV" (Sydney Howard), "Yes, Mr. Brown" (Jack Buchanan), "Summer Lightning" ("Ralph Lynn and Winifred Shotter), "Night of the Garter" (Sydney Howard and Winifred Shotter), "After the Ball" (Esther Ralston and Basil Rathbone), "The Rome Express" (Joan Barry), "The Blarney Stone" (Tom Walls and Anne Grey), and "I Lived With You" (Ivor Novello).

Some of these productions were expected this year, and filmgoers will in particular await with anticipation "Thark," "Yes, Mr. Brown" and "The Rome Express." The latter film and also "Tell Me To-night," which is at the moment well on the way to breaking the long-run record for Melbourne, have done exceedingly well in America— generally a most unsuitable market for the English product.
