BEATS BANDIT WITH OWN BLUDGEON. After finishing liis work Jit 2 a.m., Walter Hunks, of Wood Street, Mitehani (Surrey), fought and defeated a masked bandit with his own bludgeon, then calmly cycled home. Hanks is the booking clerk at Epsom Downs station on the Southern Railway, and as he came out of the dimly lit office he saw a man in a corner. Suffering from cuts and bruises, Mr. Hanks lay in bed next morning and told how he tackled the raider.
