LEYS INSTITUTE DEBATE.
The question of the abolition of the Legislative Council was debated on Thursday at the Leys Institute. Jhe VM C \ B team affirmed the desirability of the proposition, which was denied by the Leys Institute R team. The Y.M.G.A. team consisted of Messrs. A. Hooper, <J. Herbert and H. Leemon (leadL and the Leva Institute team of Messrs. P. J. Luxford (lead). A. Clark and H. P. Arthur. The adjudicator, Mr. A. -T. l 4 crnando7:, awarded the decision to the Leys Institute bv 209 points to 202. Next Thursday at the meeting of the Leys Institute Debating Union there will be an address on "William L. Hcnlcj, given by Mr. G. G. Grant.
