WAIHI COMPANY'S HEPOBT. A brief telegraphed summary of operations nt the Wuilii mine for the period ended .I une 10 lias already been published In the "Star." The extended report, compiled by the superintendent, Mr. H, W. Hopkins, Is now available as follows: — AREA. No. 13 Level.-—Martha lode, south section : At a point 340rt in No. 4 shaft north crosscut a drive has been commenced east on the south section of lode, and carried to SSOfti assay value varied from S/ll to 15/4 per ton. . . No. 1- Level.— Uoyal lode, west of No. 4 shaft S.Ki crosscut: Driving has been resumed in this face and carried to 52Jft. Assay value so far is low. This is being pushed out with the object of searching for the downward continuation of the pay ore opened up in the sub-level at.Boft below No. 11 level. No. 11 (7Uft) Sub-level. —The drive east on the Empire lode from Cod West cvusseut was resumed and carried to 58ft. The average assay value from 15 to 58ft is 38/1, the width of the quartz varying 1 foot to sft.

No. 11 (33ft) Sub-level.—Empire lode, north section: East of Kingsford north crosscut, widening to 16ft was continued from 55ft to 91ft. Westward widening was also clone from 31ft to 51ft, width taken being 10ft. The drive west ou the south side was carried to 81ft, where work was stopped owing to the value falling. Klngsford Dip block is now being timbered preparatory to stoplrig. No. 11 Level.—Edward lode: The level has been widened from a point. 879 ft to 923 ft south of Sprat West crosscut, the width taken being lift. Truck sampling of this work averaged 31/9 per ton.'

No. 9 Level.—Empire lode: The stoping of Warn block has been completed and the broken ore is now boing drawn. Empire lode (north section): Feather winze has been sunk 22ft and should shortly get into touch Wlll> the main portion of lode. ■

No. 5 hovel.— Koyeroft N.W. crosscut: Driving on the vein at 103 ft in, a distance of loft cast and 2!Kt west has been done; the reef is very small anil of low value, the greatest width in either direction being Sin. . ;

No. 4 Level.—North Branch o£ Martha Lode: East and west of Gordon .crosscut. Driving was commenced on the middle vein at 214 ft, and at the close o£ tho period was out a distance of 29ft cast and 29£t west. At 19ft east the vein met at 222 ft iu Gordon crosscut, junctions with the middle vein, swelling the width to 24im Similarly to the west drive, the vein intersected in Gordon crosscut at 207 ft conies iu from south side and junctions/with the middle vein at 14ft west. The average width of quartz in this direction is 27iti. The grade of ore from both drives in very good. Lovatt South crosscut has- been commenced from the Jellicoe lode at a point 80ft west of No. '2. shaft s.e. crosscut. It is intended to continue the crosscut south for 100 ft, from which .point it will be diverted to the south-east for :the purpose of proving the continuity of two small veins intersected in No. 2 shaft new S.e. crosscut. From the 100 ft -point also another crosscut will be driven to the west to locate the upward continuation of the Edward lode. No. 3 Level. —North branch of. Martha lode: The crosscut at 31ft up Wallace rise was driven a total of 26ft south and 10ft north without result, and crosscutting was stopped. Another rise has been. commenced at 60ft west of Wallace crosscut. The level west of Wallace crosscut has vbeen heightened to lift for a length of OGft in ore of good grade. JUNCTION AREA. /. Junction No. 10 Level. —Empire lode, No. 9 pass, stopiug block: The roof was heightened to lift from No. 9 pass to 45ft west. No. 7 Winze. —It is intended to open out an intermediate level at 40ft below No. 9 level from this winze. In > T o. 9 level payable ore extends from 50ft west to 70ft east of tho winze, and this level -will determine the depth of pay ore below No. 9 level. Waihl Company's No. 13 Level.—Empire lode: Some ore was drawn from Ellis block during the period. Junction No. 9 Level.—State Reef, north part: The, drive oast at 67ft up Kemp rise holed to the winze at 13ft. Driving cast and west will be continued. Junction No. 0 Level.—Martha lode, south section.—The breaking of ore in Slevin block is almost finished. It is intended to break right through the floor of Waihl Company's No. 9 level. Vein at 68ft south-east of Empire lode in No. 1 shaft south-east crosscut. A total of lift cast and 9Jft west has been driven/but the width is very small, varying from 6in to 10in wide. It is sulphide ore of good grade. Royal south-east prospecting crosscut : Preliminary work is still 'being done but it is hoped crosscutting should be commenced during the coming period. Waihi Company - * No. 10 Level.—Martha lode, south section : Stoping in McConncll block has been commenced,-breaking being in progress at IUU up. '
