EXPLANATION BY TURKEY,

SOFIA, August 0.
Mr. T. E. Lander, tho representative in Turkey of Vickers, Armstrongs, Ltd., of Britain, who was deported from Turkey last week, has arrived here. He says ho is nonplussed by his expulsion and suggests that the only reason can be personal intrigue hatched against him while on leave in England.
Tho British Ambassador to Turkey has communicated with the Turkish Government on the subject.
A message from Istambul says that the British Ambassador has received a full report from the Turkish Government relating to Mr. Lander's expulsion. The Ambassador expressed his deep appreciation of the manner in which the Government had treated him and forwarded the report to the Foreign Office.
