THE MAYOR'S FUND.
The procession in Queen Street on Friday was very nice and was enjoyed by hundreds of people, but it lacked one important item — a collection. I have seen lots and lots of these processions in England, and. always the men and women on the wngons or motors had a long stick with a small bag at the end of it and held it towards the people, who always put in the bag their pennies 01- silver coin. If this had been done I venture to say that the Mayor's fund would have gone up a good few pounds. JXO. MORTIMER.
