AUCKLAND'S DAIRIES.

SEASON'S REMARKABLE OUTPUT. ALL RECORDS SHATTERED. The belief that the 1932*1933 season would establish fresh records in the amazing development of dairying in the Auck-land-province has been confirmed in the publication of the June figures. For that month the quantity received for grading totalled 35,252c\vt of butter and 12,434 c wt of cheese. Reduced to terms of butterfat this gives an approximate total of 3.823.0001b. as compared with 3,008.0001b for June, 1932. The result is particularly striking by comparison with June, 193 i. when the receipts were less than half those recorded last June.

Taking the results'for a twelve months namely, from July to June, the total gradings are approximately equivalent to 17!),778.0001b, compared with _ 146.101,0001b for the previous season. This represents an increase of nearly 23 per cent. The following table shows the details of production of butter and cheese in the Auckland province, in terms of butterfat, for the season, compared with those of the corresponding periods of the previous two seasons:— I

Totals 170,778,000 1-10,191,000 132,5-11,000 Last season Auckland da fry farmers set up a record in production that was well ahead of the past year's results, and to top those figures in the next season by 23 per cent is an amazing performance. Climatic conditions, it must be admitted, have been extremely favourable, but too much credit cannot be given to the individual dairymen who, in a time of depression, have literally ''put their backs into it" and by unremitting toil and skill of a high order, have utilised to the full the natural advantages available. When further details of factory results come to hand it will probably be found that the North Auckland districts have contributed more than their share of the increased output.
