EXPORT PIG TRADE.

CLOSE OF 11)32-33 SEASON. The following statement has been issued on behalf \of the New Zealand Co-op. Big Marketing Association: — '"At a meeting of the board of directors held yesterday to consider ttie final state ment of accounts lor the. season ending May 31 last, the position disclosed v-a's entirely satisfactory ami will enable the company to pay out a substantial sum of money to its suppliers by way of a iinal payment. The baiance-sueet discloses tinsold stocks valued at approximately £40,000, a large portion oi which has since been dealt with in a satisfactory manner, but it appears probable, owing to the more than usually depressed condition of the porker market at this season of the year, that realisations may not be completed to enable a final distribution at the end of August. Tlte only stocks, which yet remain unsold, comprise light-weight porkers only, which the directors confidently anticipate will meet a ready and improved demand on the .new season a market.

"Whilst it is regretted that a final uayment to the extent of the total surpluses in sight cannot be made at the end of this month, the board, have decided to make a deferred payment to the extent of surpluses in hand at the end of August, and will make a later or final distribution immediately the proceeds from realisations are to hand. Suppliers are assured that the final payment, which will include a shareholder's bonus and appropriations for capital will be a very satisfactory one, and will compare more than favourably with that of last year. The directors will issue their annual report in the course of the next few days, which will include a comprehensive review of the operations for the past year. Bobby Calves. "The company's bobby calf operations, wliich were commenced this year have met with excellent support, and have so far accounted for over 33,000 calves in the Auckland province. The company were the first in the field with a definite price, which was equal to at least double the value of the opening prices of last year." i
