EASTERN ART.

MUSEUM EXHIBITION. Many visitors were attracted over the week-end to the special exhibition of Indian, Persian and Tibetan art treasures lent to the Auckland War Memorial Museum by private collectors. The wide range of objects of art shows the wealth of art treasures that arc scattered throughout the city. Indian art predominates, but there are good representative groups from Burma, Persia, Tibet and the Himalayan regions. Many of the museum's own treasures have been included in the exhibition, of whicn the Indian and Persian armour from the Mack el vie collection .are outstanding. Exquisite embroidered work from Persia unholds that country's reputation for beautiful things. Silverware, figures and vessels in brass and copper, musical instruments and weapons from India and Burma make a fine display, as also do the Tibetan tea pots, water jugs and trays in hammered metal. . , ~ The exhibition will remain open to the I public for a month.
