Objecting to tlio referee, the Pirate senior team refused to take the field for Saturday's play. It is understood tliat the club during the week took steps to secure another referee, and the Rugby Union supported it, but the Referees' Association adhered to the original appointment and the union officially did not pursue the matter further.
