THEFT CHARGES.

TRIAL OF J. M. HOUSTON. , CROWN CASE ENDS. Points of law were argued at the trial of James Milward Houston, company director, aged 44, before Mr. Justice Herdman at tlie Supreme Court this morning. Houston is charged on eight counts of fraudulently failing to account for money, of theft, and of forgery. The Crown case is heing conducted by Mr. V. R. Meredith and Mr. F. McCarthy, and accused is defended by Mr. F. Haigh. After several witnesses had been recalled, the case for the Crown was completed.
