VICTORIA PARK MEETING. FAIRWAY WINS FOR NEW ZEALAND. SYDNEY, July 30. The New Zealand horse Fairway, who arrived only on July 10, won the Highweight Welter Handicap at Victoria Park yesterday, this being his first start in Australia. It was a very close finish. Time, 1.44 J. Bigamy ran unplaced in the 14.2 Maiden Handicap, and Cockpen was unsuccessful in the first division of the Encourage Stakes, won by Baltimore. Sky Brighteuer (R. Parsons) won the Zetland Stakes of 250sovs, seven furlongs, with Milantheon (IS. Reed) second, and Carmlee (A. Knox) third. The Victoria Park Handicap of l~>osovs, one mile and a quarter and 121 yards, resulted:—Dalmatic (S. Weiss) 1, Magnetic (M-. McCartcn) 2, Lucks All (R. Parsons) 3. AT MOO NEE VAIXEY.
MELBOURNE, July 30. The Lindsay Gordon Steeplechase at Moonee Valley yesterday resulted in a win for Venetian. Last year the race was won by the New Zealander Make Up, hut this year the Dominion's representative, Paris, ran unplaced.
