BOISTEROUS WEEK-END.
HEAVY SEA IN GULF. Blustery north-easterly weather was experienced at Auckland during the week-end. A heavy sea was running in the Hauraki Gulf yesterday afternoon and tho conditions became worse in the evening. As reported elsewhero in this issue, the launch Wharekawa foundered betweefti Tiritiri and Rangitoto Reef last night, and the barge Billie White capsized off Devon port early this morning. ft>> other damage to small craft has so far been reported. With tho coming of the rain, which I continued throughout this morning, the. wind dropped, although at an early hour this afternoon the *oa in the harbour was still choppy. One lannehnian said to-day that the. conditions in the Gulf last evening were as bad as ho had experienced in 25 years.
