(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)
TE KUITI, Saturday
In pouring wet weather King Country | to-day defeated Thames Valley by 19 points to 11. . .... i King Countrv, despite the conditions, i used their backs to some purpose in the first half, Barlow being very prominent. Their forwards were slightly superior in the second half, when some sage advice made tlicm use the !io.se dribbling rush to a great extent, and very effectively. Handling the ball was by then almost impossible. McLeod put over a penal.y kick to gain first points for King Countij. After determined work by the home te;un Amadeo sent the ball out to Barlow, who made no mistake about it. From a lineout near the line Bradsliaw claimed the next score. r Thames Valley's first score came from Stewart's work on the line, 9—3. Kawe took advantage of McLeod s work for a breakaway score for King Country, but Williams replied by kicking a penalty, 14—0. King Country were rewarded, tor Galbraith, smothering a kick by Amadeo, crossed the line. Just at the end of the game Peake sent the ball on to Mulgrew, who scored for Thames Valley, 19 11. Mr. C. R. McLav was reieree.
