LOVELOCK ABROAD.
TO COMPETE IN ITALY.
WILL HE MEET BECCALI?
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Advice has been received by the secretary of the New Zealand A.A.A. that J. E. Lovelock is to represent New Zealand at the .stndents' international games at Turin, Italy, in September.
Italy, of course, is the home of L. Beccali, winner of the 1500 metres race at the Olympic Games at Los Angeles last year in record Olympic time. That distance is the nearest Olympic event to the mile race, for which Lovelock recently established a world record. Even if Beccali should not happen to be a university student, occasion will no doubt be made to have him matched against Lovelock when the latter is in Italy
