The Auckland mid-week committee wrote asking for permission to play against Hikurangi. It was decided that if the match was to be played at Hikurangi permission would be granted, but if it was to be played at Auckland more information was required. A suggestion from a Marton resident regarding a suitable trophy for provincial clubs was referred to the council.
