GRASSHOPPER PEST.
SUN OBSCURED IN CANADA,
REGINA, July 9.
Grasshoppers in southern Saskatchewan have been so thick that they obscured the sun and caused residents to turn on their lights at mid-day. The pests attacked southern area crops in swarms, moving in clouds toward the north-west. It is impossible to estimate the damage.
