THE RIVAL TEAMS. The Aucklnnd selectors, Messrs. B. K. Asher, W. Mincham and B. Avery, announced the following team to meet South Auckland next Saturday at Carlaw Park in the first challenge match of the season for the Northern Union Cup, held by the Southerners :—• j
Full-back.—Laing (Devonport). Three-quarters. — Turel (City), List (Marist), Schultz (Marist). Inside Backs.—Brisbane, Dunn and Hassan (Marist). Forwards.—Telford (Richmond), Leatherbarrow (Devonport), Clarke (City), Satherley (Richmond), Laird (Marist), McLaughlin (City).
Owing to injuries G. Campbell (Marist), Wayne (City) and B. Scott (Devonport) were unavailable. The team is to practice at Carlaw Park on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 7.30. The South Auckland team to play Auckland next Saturday is:— Full-back: G. Tlttleton. Three-quarters: Pafci, W. Tlttleton, Hill. Five-eights: K. Peckham, R. Garry. Half-back: D. Pitt Forwards: R. Stevenson. J. Fleming, T. Timms, P. McSu'rney, H. Mason, C. Slddell. Reserves: J. Spencer, B. Jackways, Vf. Hart, J. Broun. TRIAL THIRTEENS.
