Winds from south-bast.

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)

WELLINGTON, this day.

Pressure changes during the week-end were very rapid. A shallow depression which crossed the Dominion yesterday was followed closely by an intense anticyclone, the centre of which was east of the South Island this morning. Meanwhile, a cyclonic depression is located near Cape Maria Van Diemen.

•The forecast is for strong but gradually decreasing south-east' winds, weather cold and unsettled, with further rain, but conditions improving gradually; rough. , .■ ■
