NKW ZEAJLAND COUNCIL. • TOURNAMENTS AUTHORISED. At. the monthly meeting of the council of the New Zealand Golf Association held at Wellington on Monday, North Island tournaments authorised were : —Takapau, August 2~> and 20; Kotorua, open amateur championship and handicaps, August 20. 30, 31, September 1; Walpukurau, August 31, September 1 and 2: Poverty Hay, August: 31, September 1 and 2; Kotorua, annual contest for New Zealand veterans' cup and handicaps (age limit 5T>), September o, 6 and 7; Napier, September 5, (>, 1 and S ; Wangauui, September 28, 29 and 30: Hamilton (Soulh Auckland), September 2S, 20 and 30 ; New Zealand open and amateur championships, Titiraugi Golfs Club's links, Auckland, October C to 14 ; Seatield (Wanganui), annual tournament, October 21, 23 and 24. . A draft of the probable income and expenditure for the next financial year (commencing on August 1, 1033) was before the council, and in view of this It was resolved to call a special general meeting of the clubs for Monday, August 7, at which clubs can be represented either personally or by proxy, when a resolution will be proposed authorising the council to deduct from clubs' subscriptions for the coming linancial year an amount equal to 25 per cent of the subscription payable under the rules. At the same general meeting authority will also be asked to pay a grant of ±100 to the New Zealand Ladies' Golf Union as was done during the present iiuancial " It was reported that although Norman Fuller, the association's professional, has hod a very .successful tour up to date, lucre are no more engagements at present booked, but the secretary stated that efforts will still be made to get clubs to take advantage of the very favourable rate at which his services are now available.
