SLIPS ON RAILWAY.
MAIN TRUNK LINE DELAYS.
A delay of three hours was caused early yesterday afternoon by a fall of earth on the section of the Main Trunk lino between Piriaka and Kakahi, south of Taumarunui, to the train that arrives in Taumarunui at 1.40 p.m. from Oliakune. Passengers were brought to Taumarunui by motor bus. The line was cleared later in the afternoon.
A slip also occurred last evening near Piriaka, and the south-bound Wellington express, which left Taumarunui at 9.30 p.m., was delayed briefly until the blockage was cleared.
