FALL OF SIXTY FEET.
MOTOR CAR SIDESLIPS
FIVE OCCUPANTS ESCAPE,
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) TAIIIAPE, this day. In the early hours of Sunday morning a sedan car, driven by Mr. D. F. Thurston, of Mataroa, side-slipped 011 a bend on the Mangaweka Road, in the vicinif v of the Manui River, and crashed down about 00ft to the stream below. The occupants had a miraculous escape from serious injury.
Mcsdames Broshnahan and McVeigh were badly cut by glass and needed medical attention at the Tailiape Public Hospital.
Messrs. Thurston and G. Murphy and Miss Broshnalian escaped with bruises and a severe shaking.
All are residents of the Tailiape district. Visibility, owing to wet weather, was bad at the time. The car was much damaged.
