FINAL SPIVAKOVSKY CONCERT.
The final concert to be given in Auckland by the Spivakovsky-Kurtz trio will be held in His Majesty's Theatre this evening. The two earlier performances, both this week, were greatly appreciated by an all too small audience of music lovers, the sheer artistry of the players being something that is experienced only at rare intervals. Jascha Spivakovsky, the pianist, docs several pieces without violin or 'cello accompaniment, and he invariably commands the attention of the house. His younger brother, Tossy Spivakovsky, is no less impressive in his use of the violin, and ho has done much to provide players in Auckland with a standard. The third member of the troupe, Edmund Kurtz, like the others, is a Russian by birth, and he seems to interpret on his 'cello, with all the clarity of the musical Slav, the very essence of life that each composer injected into the original work. The musical treat offered by these players is no ordinary bill of fare, and it is one that no genuine music lover should miss at any cost.
