DICKENS FELLOWSHIP.
Mrs. Kenneth Gordon presided at the fortnightly meeting of the Auckland Dickens Fellowship. The programme, comprising a further stage in the study of "A Tale of Two Cities," was in the hands of Mr. T. Clarkson, who dealt with chapters xii. to xiv. in the second book. Apropos of Jerry Cruncher's nocturnal visit to the cemetery, where a burial had taken place the same day, Mr. Clarkson gave interesting particulars of the thriving trndi carried out by socalled "resurrectionists" and "body (matchers" about the middle of the eighteenth century. Messrs. J. E. Green as Stryver, and J. W. Kealy ns Lorry, gave a dialogue, "A 1' ellow of Delicacy." Miss M. Robinson as Lucy Manettc, and Mr. T. Clarkson as Sydney Carton, contributed another dialogue. ' A Fellow of No Delicacy." Readings from the story of .Terrv Cruncher and his family were given bv Mrs. Bayley, Miss Rennie, Miss Manning, and Mr. G. Cruiekshank.
