CYCLIST KILLED.
CRASH IN WAIKATO.
MACHINE SKIDS FIFTY FEET. RIDER FOUND ON ROADWAY. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, this day. As tho result of a fall from a motor cycle at Rukuhia on Saturday afternoon the death oceurrcd in the Waikato Hospital yesterday of Mr. John Lewis Piercy, aged 23 years. The victim of the accident, a single mau, employed as a farm hand by Mr. T. ,J. Healy, of Rukuhia, was returning from a holiday spent witli his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Piercy, of Wangaiiui, and was riding his motor cycle along Kayne's Road, Rukuhia. When lie was approaching Mr. Healy's farm his machine skidded for a distance of over 50ft, and capsized. The rider was thrown a distance of 15ft, and sustained a fracture of the base of the skull. The injured cyclist was found by a 'farmer, Mr. C. C. Sharpe, who was passing along the road. He was unconscious, and was taken to the Waikato Hospital. A verdict of accidental death was returned by the acting-coroner, Mr. AY. Seavill, ,T.P., at the inquest which wjis held to-dav.
