LADY JERSEY'S AFFLICTION. (Received 1 p.m.) LONDON, June 11. The "Sunday Chronicle" states that Lady Jersey, who, with her husband visited Auckland during a honeymoon world tour, and is a native of New South Wales, is at last triumphing over a mysterious illness' which has nyide her an exile from all social life for over a year. For months she was hardly able to move before her doctors discovered that the baffling disease was not incurable. Her tragic isolation has now ended and she is able to See a few intimate friends. It is hoped she will have fully recovered by October.

MONSOON ON EVEREST. CLIMBERS IN BASE CAMP. (Received 12.30 p.m.) LOND.ON, June 11. Mr. Hugh Ruttledge, leader of the Mount Everest climbing expedition, in a wireless message from Everest, states that the whole party has now descended to the base camp. The monsoon is now active and Everest is covered in fresh snow. When the weather moderates Messrs. Smyth, Harris, Shipton, Longland, Crawford, Brocklebank and Greene will make a reascent of the glacier for a fresh assault on the summit. All the climbers are slightly frostbitten, and all except Mr. Smyth are suffering from slight dilation of the heart.
