LOAN BY FRAUD.
PROBATION" FOR LABOURER
Armcaring for sentence on a charge of obtaining £5 from the Commercial Loan and Finance Company by false pretences, William Gladstone MacDonald, aged 50, labourer, was admitted to probation for 12 months and ordered to make restitution of £7 8/ by Mr. I'. K. Hunt, S.M., in the Police Court this morning. Detective-Sergeant McHugh said MacDonald took a representative of the loan company to a# house and obtained a loan of £5 on a sewing machine' which belonged to a woman.
