WHEY BUTTER.
SHOULD IT BE EXPORTED ? A suggestion that the export of whey butter from New Zealand should bo prohibited was made by Sir. F. C. Bush at a meeting of tho Matamata Farmers' Union. Mr. Bush, said ho might be treading on the toes of some cheese suppliers, but ho thought there was need for action. The Governor-General had expressed the opinion that no whey butter should bo exported, and the speaker thought that was the right view. The butter market was getting more difficult cacli year, and ho thought nothing but the finest produce should be exported. . Sir. T. 11. Browse thought therre should be no objection to tho export of' whey butter provided Jt was sold under a definite label. Mr. H. Gouk was of the opinion the Control Board would see that the sale of whey butter did not affect the sale of other butter. Mr. Rollett said the acids prevented whey butter from keeping, and thus it affected sales of New Zealand finest produce in Britain. It was dccidcd to ask the Dairy Board for full information on tho subject,,
