MINOR FIRES.
Three fires occupied the attention of city brigades during the week-cud. None of them was serious. The first call at 4 p.m. yesterday was a malicious false alarm to King's Street, Dominion Road. Both Mount Roskill and Mount Eden Brigades turned out. The alarm was given from a slot telephone. A defective fireplace in one of a block of flats at 231, Parnell Road, caused a fire at 11.30 last night. It was easily put out by the Pamell Brigad.3. The third outbreak was in a combined toolshed, washhouso and workshop at the back of a house at 6, Roskill Way, owned by Mr. Gocesi. The fire, which was attended by the Mount Roskill and Mount Eden Brigades, was confined to, the toolshed, in which a quantity of tools was damaged. Insurance in tlie Lancashire Office covered the house for £500, while the contents were insured for £200 in the New Zealand Office.
