WORLD WHEAT. ENORMOUS STOCKS HELD. ACREAGE CONTROL PLAN. CALGARY, June 3. Mr. W. P. Devereux, representative of the Australian Wool Council, reports as follows: —The firm and active close of the London wool sales left a good impression on the trade. United States competition provided a useful stimulant, and the carry-over, though slightly larger than was expected, largely consists of crossbreds, and is insufficient to act «b a disturbing influence. Fine wools are likely to be in short supply at the July sales. Bradford combers are very busy and topmakers are adopting a firm ' attitude. Spinners still have difficulty in, finding a commensurate rise in yarn jirices, but slight improvements are reported.. Prices in France have hardened, and in Germany there are improved prices for tops and yarns, though it is doubtful if it will continue in face of the exchange problems. Continental futures are slightly better.
