The bogey this afternoon was also won by N. Izzard, 1 down, 72,. from a handicap of 12. Astley and Grcvillo tied, 3 down.

TOURNEY AT PUKEKOHE. Thirty players took part in an open tournament held on Saturday by the Pukckohe Golf Club in showery weather. The 86-liole championship bverit was won by D. Coyle (Pukekohe), whose score was 100. W. G. Lawson (Onewhero), with a card of 100. was runner-up. The 30-hole medal match was won by K. Reynolds (Pukekohe). who returned a card of 143 net, while It. Laird (Pukekohe), 144 net, was rnnner-up.

SOUTII CANTERBURY. TIMARU, Sunday. The South Canterbury golf championship played yesterday was won by B. V. Wright, Baluiacewan, with a score of 70. 72, 1-17. G. A. Ussher, Timaru, Was runner-up, his card being 79, 71. 100. E. A. Scott, Timaru, holder of the title, scored 74, 79, 103. Wright began badly in tlie morning, but came home in 34, giving a great exhibition and registering live birdies. In the afternoon ho went out .in bogey iigures and came home in one under. Lsshcr played a line round in the afternoon.

LACEY WINS AT LEEDS. GADD CELEBRATES BIRTHDAY. LONDON, June 4. The Leeds Thousand Guineas professional golf tournament was won to-day by Lacey, who beat Padgham in the final 2 and 1. ,

Padgham was suffering from neuralgia and was not at his best. Lacey finished the first round 5 up iu 71 to Padghain's 70. In the second round the figures were not so good. Lacey.was 3 up at the turn. In the quarter-finals yesterday Dailey beat Mitchell, 2 and 1 ; Lacey beat Davies at the 21st: Padgham beat Wynn, 2 up; Gadd beat Perry at the 19th. In the semi-finuls Lacey beat Dailey at the 21st anil Padgham beat Gadd, 3 and 2. Gadd celebrated his twenty-fourth birthday by winning in the quarter-finals after being 2 down with three to play, and getting a "birdie" to tie, but lie lost in the semi-final in spite of the fact that he did one under fours for the last eight holes. That he finished 3 down was due to Padghain's devastating golf. Padgham once drove 340 yds, being 12yds beyond the green. Lacey won after Dailey had been 3 up and 4 to play.
