TAURANGA POWER BOARD.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) TAURANGA, ihics day. At the- annual meeting of the Tauranga Electric Power Board yesterday, the chairman, Mr. Geo. 11. Mends, was again nominated, and also Mr. A. Smith. The voting resulted in the election of Mr. Smith by four votes to three. The annual report presented by the retiring chairman showed that of every £100 of revenue, working co.sts accounted for £24, interest, sinking fund and depreciation for £43, the purchase of power for £29. The units sold during the year showed an increase of 50,000, and there were substantial increases in ranges, hot water services and motors. The chairman's honorarium was fixed at £70, or £5 less than last year, and members' allowances at 1.5/ per meeting, or 9d less than previously.
