BAND DISPUTE.
THREE OFFICERS RESIGN. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) CAMBRIDGE, Friday. Since it won tho C grade quickstep and one test selection at the recent South Auckland • bands contest the affairs of the Cambridge band have not been harmonious. Rumours of dissension culminated in a general meeting of the band last evening, when three members resigned and other resignations are said to be pending. '
Last night's resignations include those of the bandmaster, Mr. J. F. Davis, the drum-major, Mr. F. H. Green, and the ex-sergeant, Mr. W. Meanie. The resignations were tho upshot of differences over a suggestion that ways and means bo found to maintain the contest strength of the band. It was suggested that the bandmaster should teach the learners only and that a conductor should be appointed in addition to the bandmaster.
