PASSENGER. TRAINS IN AUGUST

NEW PLYMOUTH, Friday, j The passenger service on the Stratford-Main Trunk railway will not be resumed before August, according to, advice which has been received by the New Plymouth stationmastTer. _ A through freight service lias been main-; tained since the clearing away of the | blockages caused by the March floods. j It is stated that the alteration in! the time-table of the Wellington-! Auckland express will also necessitate an alteration in the time-table for the , new line when it is opened for pas-1 senger traffic, and instead of the express train leaving Now Plymouth at G.lO p.m. it will leave an hour later. The , express will also be speeded up on the I return journey, so that instead of I arriving here at 6.38 a.m. it will arrive at 6.1 a.m. I
