ARAPAUNI POWER
DEFECTIVE UNIT REPAIRED. FULL OUTPUT POSSIBLE. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, this day. Since Easter the Xo. 1 power generator at Arapuni hydro-electric station, which had been giving trouble, has been under test, and is now in perfect running order. The defect was found to lie in the runner, which was out of balance. To demonstrate the correctness of this belief, the runner was taken from another unit which had been operating efficiently. When used in the faulty generator there was no trouble. The necessary adjustments were therefore made in the runner from No. 1 unit, and this has since worked perfectly. As a consequence, Arapuni station has all four generators in good working order, capable of a total power output of 00,000 kilowatts.
