WICKER WORKERS.
DOMINION AWARD SOUGHT. No agreement was reached in conciliation council this morning between the workers and employers in the wickerwork and rattan trade. The dispute has arisen over the competition Auckland manufacturers are receiving from Southern centres. The workers decided to refer the matter to their association to apply for a Dominion award. The Conciliation Commissioner, Mr. P. Hally, presided, and the assessors were: —Employers, Messrs. S. E. Wright, R. Wood, A. Thompson, H. A. Douglas; workers, Messrs. A. H. Dixon, C. Saunders, A. Forbes, and W. H. Cook.
