RAILWAYS BUSY.
CHXLDREN RETURNING TO SCHOOL Owing to the number of children who will be returning to school on Monday to commence the winter term, the Railways Department at Auckland has added extra carriages to certain of its expresses. The 8.48 a.m. Whangarei express for Opua has two extra carriages, and the train is well booked. The Rotorua-Tauranga train also has additional cars attached. The express for Wellington this afternoon left with one additional car, and the express to-morrow afternoon will leave with at least one additional car. The Limited on Sunday night is fully booked, and to this train has been added a second-class carriage and also a sleeper for the Australian University footballers.
