WELCOMED BY WOMEN Hon. O. F. Nelson Arrives from New Zealand. NO MALE MAU PRESENT. (By E«dio—Special to Press Association.) (Received 2 p.m.) APIA, May IC. The Hon. O. F. Nelson, who was banished for five years from Samoa for his Mau activities, and his family arrived at 5.30 a.m. to-day. i Two motor launches brought his party and five Mau chiefs, who went over* to meet them from Pago Pago. The launches were met in the roadstead by one motor launch, three fautasi arid two row boats. Approximately 1500 Mau women were assembled on the foreshore, but no male members of the Mau were there to meet him. The office staff of O. F. Nelson and Co., Ltd., met him at the end of the wharf, after which he walked through the lines of women, who raised a cheer for Taisi as he passed. There was no active demonstration and the reception passed off very quietly. A Samoan welcome is being given this afternoon at Vaimoso village to Mr. G. E. L. Westbrook, who has also returned. Mr. E. W. Gurr was taken into hospital at Pago Pago seriously ill.
