STOLE A WALLET.
BURGLAR IN FLAT. DISTURBED BY OCCUPIER. ESCAPES BY BACK DOOR. A burglar was surprised while overhauling a flat in View Road, Mount Eden, at 4.00 this morning. He escaped with a wallet containing about £3 in notes and a cheque for £10 10/. The occupier of the flat, at 4.30 this morning-, was awakened by an unusual noise and as he got out of bed, he heard the back door slam. He did not see the intruder, but heard him running away. Later he discovered that entrance had been gained by forcing a window at the rear of the premises. A wallet containing the cheque and cash was stolen from the mantelpiece in one of the rooms.
