AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE.
INVESTMENT STOCKS AND SHARES. COMPARISONS OF RECENT TRANSACTIONS. TO TUESDAY, MAY 16, 1933. The following table furnishes a guide to investors. It shows the trend of the market over twelve months for a comprehensive list of securities, at the same time indicating the latest movements, namely from a week ago to the date of compilation. The rate of interest obtainable to present-day purchasers is also presented, the calculation based on the latest dividends. Since last review the position in regard to Government stocks has shown little change. There is still an unsatisfied demand for both 4's and 3i's, but would-be purchasers are disinclined to raise their limits and values are unaltered. In the case of insurances it would appear that peak has been reached in the meantime, and a alight easing tendency is noticeable. The banking section is steady, and tlie market generally maintains a healthy tone. Colonial Sugars have taken another jump and are 15/ up on the week.
