CANTERBURY PRODUCE.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Tuesday. There was considerable firmness in the potato market at the close of last week, and the price for prompt rose to £3 5/ a ten on trucks to growers. The market has eased again, however, and is back to about £3. There is not a very sustained demand from the North Island. The Kiwitea should leave almost immediately from Lyttelton with about 3000 sacks for Auckland. There has been a firmer tone in the oat market. A grade Gartons are difficult to obtain, and the Lyttelton quote for them is about 2/6, f.0.b., s.i. B grade are not j mentioned. The average quotation for onions is about £2 15/ a ton on trucks to growers. J
